Scholars agree that the name "Christian" was given to the followers of Christ. What about followers of Mary?

Why does Satan offer alternatives to the Bible?

Mary is the Mother of the God. (Catechism….p. 963, 975 )

Bible says, God has no Mother. Acts 1:14, I Corinthians 12:13,27, Revelation 1:8,11, Revelation 21:6, 22:13

Mary is the mother of God? Frist, This is not talking about God coming in the flesh. It is talking about His Son Jesus coming in the flesh.

Mary’s body and soul were Assumed up into Heaven to be with God on the throne. ( Catechism p. 966, 974 )

The bible says...Upon death, body returned unto the dust of the earth.( Genesis 3:19 )

Mary has been exalted by God as the Queen of Heaven.( Catechism….p. 2677 )

The only Queen of Heaven mentioned in the Bible was a pagan, female goddess that the Israelites got in trouble with God over.

Mary’s “Assumption” or being taken to heaven with body and soul is not found in the Holy Scriptures.

You asked several questions, I'll try to answer them all and give you scriptural references (sorry it's so long)...

1. Yes. Mary is the Mother of God.

Joh 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and without Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being.

Joh 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and tabernacled among us. And we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and of truth.

Mat 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: when His mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child by the Holy Spirit.

Luk 1:31-35 "And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus. "He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end." Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I am a virgin?" The angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God.

Joh 10:30 "I and the Father are one."

Joh 10:33-38 The Jews answered Him, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God." Jesus answered them, "Has it not been written in your Law, 'I SAID, YOU ARE GODS'? "If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken), do you say of Him, whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, 'You are blaspheming,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God'? "If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me; but if I do them, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, so that you may know and understand that the Father is in Me, and I in the Father."

Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit are One. If Mary being the mother of Jesus (even Muslims believe this), then yes Mary is the Mother of God.

2. I have never heard of followers of Mary (sorry I can't answer this one)

3. Satan was the first believer in Jesus as the Son of God.

Luk 4:3-13 And the devil said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread." And Jesus answered him, "It is written, 'MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE" And he led Him up and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him, "I will give You all this domain and its glory; for it has been handed over to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. "Therefore if You worship before me, it shall all be Yours." Jesus answered him, "It is written, 'YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD AND SERVE HIM ONLY.'" And he led Him to Jerusalem and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here; for it is written, 'HE WILL COMMAND HIS ANGELS CONCERNING YOU TO GUARD YOU,' and, 'ON their HANDS THEY WILL BEAR YOU UP, SO THAT YOU WILL NOT STRIKE YOUR FOOT AGAINST A STONE.'" And Jesus answered and said to him, "It is said, 'YOU SHALL NOT PUT THE LORD YOUR GOD TO THE TEST.'" When the devil had finished every temptation, he left Him until an opportune time.

Why wouldn't Satan offer alternatives to take believers away form Jesus and Sacred Scripture?

4. Mary's Assumption

Mat 15:4 "For God said, 'HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER,' and, 'HE WHO SPEAKS EVIL OF FATHER OR MOTHER IS TO BE PUT TO DEATH.'

Mat 16:28 "Truly I say to you, there are some of those who are standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom."

Joh 5:24 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

Luk 1:28-30 And coming in, he said to her, "Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you." But she was very perplexed at this statement, and kept pondering what kind of salutation this was. The angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God.

Luk 1:42 And she cried out with a loud voice and said, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!

Luk 1:46-52 And Mary said: "My soul exalts the Lord, And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. For He has had regard for the humble state of His bondslave; For behold, from this time on all generations will count me blessed. For the Mighty One has done great things for me; And holy is His name. AND HIS MERCY IS UPON GENERATION AFTER GENERATION TOWARD THOSE WHO FEAR HIM. He has done mighty deeds with His arm; He has scattered those who were proud in the thoughts of their heart. He has brought down rulers from their thrones, And has exalted those who were humble.

Mat 18:4-5 "Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. "And whoever receives one such child in My name receives Me;

Jesus being true to the law at the time, honored His mother. Humble as she was, freely submitted to the will of God. And Jesus exhaulted her as His mother, thereby showing His mercy. Mary being the first, who heard His word, and believed Him, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. (not my words, but those in scripture) The doctrine of the Assumption says that at the end of her life on earth Mary was assumed, body and soul, into heaven, just as Enoch, Elijah, and perhaps others had been before her. It’s also necessary to keep in mind what the Assumption is not. Some people think Catholics believe Mary "ascended" into heaven. That’s not correct. Christ, by his own power, ascended into heaven. Mary was assumed or taken up into heaven by God. She didn’t do it under her own power.

The Church has never formally defined whether she died or not, and the integrity of the doctrine of the Assumption would not be impaired if she did not in fact die, but the almost universal consensus is that she did die. Pope Pius XII, in Munificentissimus Deus (1950), defined that Mary, "after the completion of her earthly life" (note the silence regarding her death), "was assumed body and soul into the glory of heaven."

The possibility of a bodily assumption before the Second Coming is suggested by Matthew 27:52–53: "The tombs also were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised, and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many." Did all these Old Testament saints die and have to be buried all over again? There is no record of that, but it is recorded by early Church writers that they were assumed into heaven, or at least into that temporary state of rest and happiness often called "paradise," where the righteous people from the Old Testament era waited until Christ’s resurrection (cf. Luke 16:22, 23:43; Heb. 11:1–40; 1 Pet. 4:6), after which they were brought into the eternal bliss of heaven. There is also what might be called the negative historical proof for Mary’s Assumption. It is easy to document that, from the first, Christians gave homage to saints, including many about whom we now know little or nothing. Cities vied for the title of the last resting place of the most famous saints. Rome, for example, houses the tombs of Peter and Paul, Peter’s tomb being under the high altar of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. In the early Christian centuries relics of saints were zealously guarded and highly prized. The bones of those martyred in the Coliseum, for instance, were quickly gathered up and preserved—there are many accounts of this in the biographies of those who gave their lives for the faith.

It is agreed upon that Mary ended her life in Jerusalem, or perhaps in Ephesus. However, neither those cities nor any other claimed her remains, though there are claims about possessing her (temporary) tomb. And why did no city claim the bones of Mary? Apparently because there weren’t any bones to claim, and people knew it. Here was Mary, certainly the most privileged of all the saints, certainly the most saintly, but we have no record of her bodily remains being venerated anywhere.

5. Mary the Queen of Heaven.

Several biblical theme sheds light on these questions and serves as a key for unlocking the mystery of Mary’s queenship: the Old Testament tradition of the "queen mother" in the Davidic kingdom.

In the monarchy of King David, as well as in other ancient kingdoms of the Near East, the mother of the ruling king held an important office in the royal court and played a key part in the process of dynastic succession. In fact, the king’s mother ruled as queen, not his wife.

Probably the clearest example of the queen mother’s role is that of Bathsheba, wife of David and mother of Solomon. Scholars have noted the excellence of Bathsheba’s position in the kingdom once she became queen mother during Solomon’s rule. Compare the humble attitude of Bathsheba as spouse of King David (1 Kgs. 1:16–17, 31) with her majestic dignity as mother of the next king, Solomon (1 Kgs. 2:19–20). As spouse of the king, Bathsheba bows with her face to the ground and does obeisance to her husband, David, upon entering his royal chamber. In striking contrast, after her son Solomon assumed the throne and she became queen mother, Bathsheba receives a glorious reception upon meeting with her royal son:

With this Old Testament background, we can now more clearly see how the New Testament portrays Mary in light of the queen mother tradition.

The Gospel of Matthew has often been called the "Gospel of the Kingdom." Matthew emphasizes that Jesus is "the Son of David," who is the true King of the Jews establishing the "Kingdom of Heaven." With all this kingly imagery, it should not be surprising to find queen mother themes as well.

Hear the strong Davidic overtones describing Mary and her royal son: a woman from the house of David giving birth to a son who will be the new king whose reign will never end. With echoes from the queen mother tradition of the Davidic kingdom and the mother-son prophecy of Isaiah 7:14, we can conclude that Mary is being given the vocation of queen mother.

In summary, it really depends on what your beliefs are. Do you believe in the Trinity God, Son and Holy Spirit? If so, then you have to admit that Mary (being the mother of Jesus) is the Mother of God (in human form) The Catholic Church has been taken out of content fro centuries, why not still today? If you truly want answers I suggest that you try to investigate those questions that you feel that the Catholic is wrong about. A good place to start is found at the link found below...

"In the beginning was the Word. And the Word was with God. And the Word WAS God ... and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us". Jesus is the Word. Jesus was with God from the beginning. Jesus WAS God from the beginning. Jesus - God - the Word - became flesh by being born of the Virgin Mary. Mary was and is His mother. Therefore Mary was and is the mother of God.

I am a biologist. Given that information, is there any possible way that my mother is not the mother of a biologist?? Given that Jesus was and is God, is there any possible way that His mother is not the mother of God?? No-one becomes human except by being born to a mother. God the father willed that God the Son become human and live upon Earth. Therefore he selected a mother to whom God the Son might be born. Really, it's pretty basic.

To deny that Mary is the mother of God is to deny the divinity of her Son. And to deny the divinity of Jesus Christ is to deny Christianity.

hERE IS WHAT HAPPENED. tHE CHURCH WANTED TO CONVERT PEOPLE OPPS there were many Paga practices at that time that had a female diety, and festive holidays centered around them like Christmas. Those people did not want to give up what they had so the chuch blended with them. In order to do this they had to make Mary a more central figure and so they gave her atributes she might not have even had. Says Jesus had brothers and sisters but She was a virgin.

All the denominations have done their own special twisting so they could keep their followers from just moving to different groups of christians and thus maintain income and power. If you want to know the truth get it by reading the scripture yourself. Put forth the effort God will talk to you through the scripture and you will learn the truth. If others teach you you might be subject to a hidden aganda.

Get a King James Version of the Bible and toss the rest on the shelf, for they are interpretations not translations. They all have a copy rights attached except the King James Version.
The Truth will set you Free.

"make you Free" was found 2 times in 2 verses in the New Testament.

John 8:32 - And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 8:36 - If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

"private interpretation" was found 1 times in 1 verses in the New Testament.

2 Peter 1:20 - Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

This Scripture states that the Holy Spirit shall reveal the Truth of Scripture to us and it is not for man's interpretation. Amen

Mary isn't the mother of God or Jesus. Jesus is God, he's fully human but also fully God, he's God wrapped up in humanness. Mary was chosen by God to look after Jesus until he became old enough to preach the word of God. The Bible speaks the truth. Satan want to lead you away from the word of God so he offers alternatives to the Bible which are very near to the truth but just far enough away to make sure you never quite reach God.

No, Mary is the mother of Jesus Christ. God is a spirit, and therefore needed a human body for a perfect sacrifice. Mary gave birth to the human body of Christ. To say Mary is the mother of God, then you would have to assume divinity on her part. She was not sinless. She needed the Holy Ghost as much as everybody else did in the second chapter of Acts. This comes from the erroneous belief that Jesus is the second person in the mythical trinity. Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh. The man Christ Jesus is the mediator between God and man. She gave birth to the Christ (messiah), not God.

Mary is the mother of God because she's the mother of Jesus who is God the Son in the flesh. (Not because she would be the author of the Godhead, that she most clearly is not).

As Jesus is King of Heaven, Mary is the queen of Heaven because of the the will of God see Rev 12.

Mary was the mother of Jesus, a chosen incubator and physical tutor until Jesus' barmitzvah.
She WAS family. She didn't understand Jesus' mission at times. She needed to embrace her son's substitutionary death and resurrection, and apparently did.
But, historically, there is no evidence that she was considered more than a follower, and no miracles ascribed to her until centuries later.

Mary is Jesus Christ mother. God Jehovah does not have a mother.

Mary was the mother of Jesus, but of course not God. the catholic church adopted that title queen of heaven to attract those that worshiped Diana as queen of heaven. even if they did not believe it at the time they certainly should have drooped the title by now as they still encourage catholics to pray to Mary ( although most tell me they don't) and this is a greavus sin to start with.
