Good karma is what happens when you do something good for someone or something else and it comes back around to you. Bad karma is when you do something mean or bad for someone or something and it comes back around to you
Examples:
Good karma: You help someone when they are sad, and the next time you are sad, they help you.
Bad karma: You kick someone, and they kick you back.

It's the idea that when you do something good or bad it comes back to you eventually. So, if you do something bad, you get "bad karma" then later something bad will happen to you in return.

Don't worry, it's mostly superstition. You do have to figure out the real consequences of your actions, but it's nothing mystical like "karma". If you do something bad, there is probably a greater chance of it adversly affecting you because that's probably why it is considered bad in the first place. People judge you by your character.

karma is an arabic word meaning 'action'. To have negative karma means to create bad merit, which will affect how you spend your next life. But, you must remember, good karma and bad karma do not balance out each other - every action has a consequence.

If you have bad karma, bad things are happening to you, presumably because you've done something bad to deserve it. The way I understand it, Karma is the idea that cosmically, what goes around comes around.

Its basically just saying that your actions will have consequences. Everything is subject to cause and effect - there are consequences to everything you do. Bad is not a very good translation as it implies some sort of judgement of right and wrong - unskillful is better. Its kindof like you reap what you sow
