Our local Chinese takeaway does great Special Fried Rice. I discovered today that they put tiny chunks of Spam in it!!! Not complaining but there is always some weird stuff that goes in Special Fried Rice. They also put crabsticks in there!
What kind of random foodstuffs have you found in your Special Fried Rice?

i agree i had spam or something simialar in one last year it totally put me off and i havent been back to that take-away since.
tonight i had special fried rice and it had a carrot careved in the shape of a flower on top of it!
that was a nice suprise!

Strange as it seems, I found 12 Chinese cockle pickers hiding beneath the Rice. I only asked for Peking Duck too!!!

Our local Chinese fusion place has a special fried rice that has dried fruit (cranberries, raisins, apricots and pine nuts and slivered almonds) with wild rice.
They also have a "cajun" fried rice with crawfish, shrimp, sausage (which are not weird) and alligator! (That's the weird part!)

SPAM in special fried rice is taking the p*ss!! my local tried using similar in sweet n sour pork balls.they lost a lot of regulars........but if u like it go for it.
ps.even yahoo agrees with me. they say no spam please,next to the answer box!

Mushrooms, corn, peas, and green beans. We don't do that in Illinois unless you request it like that.
