Too Big is a good excuse.
I took a dresser back to Target after I built it.
As long as its within the return period, you really dont need any excuse.

i'm no longer a criminal professional, yet my daughter works in retail and from she's informed me, they have the right to ask on your receipt once you've products that are not in a bag, yet they do no longer have the right to seem on your bag or your handbag without some variety of sensible suspicion. apparently, it is an extremely enormous deal because some shops are transforming into into truly some difficulty for unlawfully searching human beings's property, so in the journey that they detain you for a glance for and do not locate something, you would possibly want to doubtlessly have the grounds for a criminal criticism.

Find out the stores policy before you drag it back there..how long they will give refunds out ( eg.:7-14 days )...if their policy is customer satisfaction you really don't need and excuse..."it was NOT suitable" is all you need to say...if they say is anything wrong with it say "no" just not what I wanted...some stores will have a policy about returning things that have been put together and not boxed...if that happens you might have to take a discount in the price of the article..BUT...if they are customer orientated you shouldn't have a problem. If all else fails...try selling it on your local free online advertising...every city has at least one...check it out.

just tell them it's too big. they'll take it back as long as you have the receipt and it's within the correct time frame (if you purchased it w/in the past 90 days usually)

Say that it's defective and not at all what you wanted... if they give you a lot of crap ALWAYS say that you want the telephone number to the District managers office and if they still dont care say that your going to file a complaint with the better business bureau.

If its within the allowed time to return you don't need a reason. but if you feel comfortable giving a reason be honest, it simply doesn't fit. If they hassel you about it ask for an exchange for a desk that is smaller.

You could say that you had trouble assembling it, if it's one that needs to be assembled. Or you could say that you've reconsidered. If they refuse to take it back, take the name of the salesperson who refused and write an angry letter.
