They both have to decide if something potentially amazing is worth risking a couple more one night stands. Go with your gut.

First of all they have to establish in what way do they like each other...as friends only or more than friends. If they like each other more than ordinary friends and could lead to romantic feelings then norm would dictate that they stay exclusive to give the relationship the chance to grow because if it's an open relationship then they won't be committted to work on it. If the commitment is not there then it's best not to start anything that could just end up in hurting the other person.
