Add your radio model and serial number and I'll post the code on here for you for free. Honestly, I have the software for most of the common head units to do it. What do you have to lose?
If you take it out of the dashboard the serial number will be on a sticker either on the top, back or side.

The best bet is to take it to a VW dealer, its the safest bet. Although I would personally ditch the radio and buy a new Cd player. The only downside is you need a amplified aerial booster to listen to MW as the booster is built into the Beta radios!
Its probably best to weigh up the cost of buying a new unit or getting it decoded!
(Hint: If you recently bought the car the chances are the previous owner bought a new radio and when they sold it put the old one back in, hence no code!)

Code means secret character or number, if I have one and give to you it means not secret anymore, take your VW to the authorised work shop and they will check it for you, unless your car is one of the hot car.

you will only have three attempts at this and then it will lock! try looking in the manuals you where given some one may have written it in there, ask the person you got it off or goto the VW garage and they will do for around £40
