Are we losing the battle with time? Technology rapidly advances everyday, yet we cannot keep up with our busy schedules! My theory is that the devil cannot get us to be bad so he is keeping us so busy that we cannot be effective. We are continually distracted. When will we realize that we need to get back to a simple life? Will our kids be the victims? Where does it stop? What is your experience? How does your busy life hamper your ability to be effective in your life as a Christian wife, mom, care provider, friend, etc. Is it just me??? Ideas please. Thank you!! :)

Yes, everything is so complex anymore - makes it so difficult to focus on Christ. The cool thing is He is faithful. When we get side-tracked, He'll reel us back in ONE way or another.

It's having a big effect. Many people 'think' they're sooooo busy and brag about it. Things like, 'oh, we are so busy', or 'you have no idea how busy we are'. I hear it everyday on my job. And I always feel badly for them. They have transitioned into thinking that having a busy life means having a successful life. And usually it's quite the opposite. Being soooo busy, can make you miss the important things in life. But sooo many seem to think they've found the important things and thus surround themselves completely with what they call a 'full schedule'. That's reality, and I'm sure someone will tell me how wrong I am, because they think they really are soooo busy.

EDIT* I barely got done replying and then I looked at only 2 of the answers so far(directly above my answer). And sure enough ' ff f' thinks they are sooo busy and can handle it.

That's a very good point. I've heard how studies have shown that the most effective way to build a child's sense of self worth, increase their knowledge, and keep them from delinquent behavior is to have dinner together every night as a family. But how many people actually do that these days?

if we are to busy to give thanks to our father God for what he has given us it can be taken away we should count our Blessings every day and always give thanks for our day before it starts people don't realize how much of a spiritual influence we are all under there is a spiritual battle going on all around us and so many people don't even know this if every ones eyes were to be opened to the spirit world this worlds would change instantly and i am sure everyone would believe in God and they would know there is a devil where does the hate in the world come from you are not born into this world knowing how to hate.
so never be to busy to thank God for everything you have give thanks even for the things in life you can not see like your guardian angels

the paradox of our age (the second line is the relevent one but I like the entire saying):

We have bigger houses but smaller families;
more conveniences, but less time.
We have more degrees but less sense;
more knowledge but less judgment;
more experts, but more problems;
more medicines but less healthiness.
We’ve been all the way to the moon and back,
but have trouble in crossing the street to meet our new neighbour.
We built more computers to hold more copies than ever,
But have less real communication;
We have become long on quantity,
but short on quality.
These are times of fast foods but slow digestion;
Tall mean but short characters;
Steep profits but shallow relationships.
It’s a time when there is much in the window
But nothing in the room.
