It's subjective. When you feel it deep in your heart, it's true, because it's an emotion, not a thing of reason or rationality. Some people are frightened away by hasty amorous proclamations, and so you might want to reel that line back from the water a bit, but try your best to balance listening to what's in your head and heart.

a) he won't totally freak out
b) you can't hold it inside you any longer
but honestly, after (b) comes to pass it won't matter any longer.
