What did bankers do each day in the late 1920's when they went in to work? What jobs did they perform?

The same basic jobs as now (handling money and putting it in a safe place and so on), and quite a bit too because the 1920's was a huge economy as far as the rich go. Interestingly enough the 1920's is similar to our economy now; that is huge profits for businesses but that those huge profits aren't translating into higher wages for employees. I believe we are headed to a second Great Depression if something isn't done soon to restore a middle class, which has always been the biggest and strongest net to a falling economy. The economy is screwed up but not falling yet (but will soon), but because it isn't falling nothing is being done to safeguard against the impending fall of the economy.
