First I'm sorry for your loss. Lossing your puppy is devastating.
Secondly a puppy should NOT be removed from mom and littermates until it has completed it's 7th week and in some states it must be 8 weeks old(it is illegal in some states to buy, sell, adopt or give away a puppy before it's completed it's 7th week or is 8 weeks old). A responsible breeder would not sell a puppy under that age anyway.
As for your puppy, Chihuahuas have a high rate of seizures and many times it is an inherited condition. I would be will ing to bet that your puppy did not come from a responsible breeder and that the parents were never given health testing (not just simple vet exams) before they were bred and I would bet the pedigrees weren't researched thoroughly for health issues. Also if the puppy was a runt or delibrately bred smaller then the breed standard then that also could be a big contributing factor as well.
Hopefully you had a sales contract and health guarantee from the person you bought the puppy from and hopefully you have written info on the puppy's death from a licensed vet. You should be able to get a refund of the puppy purchase price and/or get payment of any vet bills incurred by the puppy. If you didn't I'd check into puppy lemon laws in your state and also report the matter to the consumer affairs/better business bureau of your state.

What do you mean rescued the pup, where did you get it? If you found it, you need to let your shelter know and take pix to them and advertize so the owner will have a good chance to find the pup. It is very young and you are lucky if it is 4 hours between feedings and potty times etc. Get a good puppy food and for a small breed, canned is best at this age. feed that and the good news is that pups mature very fast and in a couple of weeks it will be about 6 hours between food and potty times and then by 10 weeks it will be 3 feedings a day and the possibility of a few 8 hour nights for potty. At 4 to 5 months put the pup on two feedings a day and watch for the time the pup goes potty after feeding so you can set feeding times to work with your schedule and be able to complete potty training for your pup. Be sure to start the shots right away so a trip to the vets should be soon. Do not put the pup down anywhere you do not know is free from parvo, distemper, lepto, and corona germs and that includes all areas of the vets office except the sterilized exam table.

I am so sorry for your loss!! The pup was sold to you too young. It probably died from hypoglycemia, low blood sugar. Chihuahua pups should have food available to them at all times. Was she eating good? If not hypoglycemia, it could have been hydrocephalus(water on the brain). Was there a very large soft spot on the top of her head? The only other thing that comes to mind is eplilepsy but it usually does not show up in very young pups. If it isn't too late, you need to have a necropsy(autopsy) done, to determine the cause of the puppy's death. If it was something genetic, you should be able to get your money back. Call the breeder and tell her the puppy died.

PUPPY MILL!!! If you got her at a pet store, you need to file a HUGE report. Two BIG signs that this animal came from a mill:
1.) only 6 weeks old. This is WAY too young to be taken from Mama, unless there is no other choice.
2.) the seizure sounds like Parvo.
You need to do something about this right away. Contact whoever you got the puppy from and start doing some research.
Where in the world did you purchase this puppy???

A 6 week old puppy, for a chihuahua, is awfull young to be taking away from it's mother. I'm sorry, but I raise Chihuahuas, and we don't even think of someone taking them until they are 7&1/2 wks. They are not old enough to eat and drink on their own without getting sick. Small Chihuahuas need to have sugar, something like syrup, that keeps them from going into a diabetic like shock. This puppy was too young. I also give puppies of this age some milk. Sorry for your loss.

Also, 6 weeks is a little early to remove a puppy from its mother. 9 weeks is the norm. The pup may have died because it was not old enough.

Hi I'm A Vet Tech. This happens alot to puppies bought from a breeder or a pet shop. She most likely had Parvo Virus. The signs for this virus sometimes never appear and the dog died. Make sure to bleach everthing. The virus can live in your house or in your yard for ten years.

There could have been many causes - probably mostly because the pup was too young. I would definately get a hold of where you got the pup from & complain. If nothing else - venting might make you feel better. Sorry for your loss

Poor baby!
Did she have diabetes or hypoglycemia? I understand from a friend who has a chihuahua that this breed is prone to blood sugar problems.
I'm sorry to hear about the puppy.
