I'm married and I'm living with my wife and two sister in laws. My sister in laws are are 17 and 15 years old. My wife's parents are dead and so I treat them like my daughters. They call me 'bawa' which means dad in arabic. I like being called that cause I seriously treat them like my daughters. Is it okay for them to call be that?

It is commendable that you are sympathetic to their needs. I know that not only boys like to have a good relationship with their father it is equally important to girls. If they call you bawa then it means that they are honoring you because you treat them so well like a father would treat their daughter. May the creator bless you because by you being there for them where their birth father has passed, shows that you are an honorable person. No one could take the place of their father but at least they can have the comfort of knowing and having you around this obviously hard time in their life. I can see your point of not wanting to take another person's place but bawa in the way they are using the name is as the male figure in their life that takes care of them not someone who totally replaces the love and recognition of their birth father.

I don't see a problem with it. But I am not a part of your family. How does your wife feel about it. If you plan on having children of your own one day you might think about how it could affect them. If there isn't much difference between your age and the 17 and 15 I would not let them call you by dad. Your wife should be the one to make the decision because they are her sisters. You have a stressful situation going on. I think it's very giving of you and your wife to care for the girls. I
