It's that masochistic submission thing that worries me about the whole deal, I mean I can understand it ...many relationships have an element of dominance and submission but I prefer a more egalitarian approach myself.

Yeah, more like a "slave," to death and non-existence. Personally I prefer reason and using my mind to trying to kill my mind, myself and the world with mysticism.

Father and son.

You draw your own conclusions after that.

Remember, it's possible God is a first time parent.

Supreme being doesn't mean infalliable, although having the power to create the Universe or End it with a thought means I'd be real careful going against God...

Yes and no.

For a believer, we serve God because we love Him and we want become more like Him because he has done a great many things for us and He loves us even though we do not deserve it.

It is also a Father and Child relationship, a Brotherly relationship, and a Friendship.

Not so in many religions. The master and servant thing makes it sound so serious, too. "Master" means you respect your god/gods, and servant means you obey the order of god/gods. It doesn't necessarily mean master/servant in the cult sense.

well We go through this all the time, we submit ourselves to our bosses at work, We as husbands should serve our wives and consider them before our own needs.
God is the creator, king, and rightful owner of this planet and we are living in his house. When someone lives in my house they obey my rules. Then when you think of God and his power, we should willingly submit to his power and authority. It is a love relationship, he loves us and we obey him because we love him..

This is also like the ford factory saying that you need to do certain maintenance to your car for it to continue working. What do they know? Why should I obey them?? When your car is junk then you whine and cry..

God's attitude is to serve us. When Jesus came he was the servant of all. All He asks is that we believe in Him and appreciate all that He does for us.
