No, you shouldn't make the white people work harder because than they'll see the hispanic men doing less work and being paid equally, and then the white men will have a reason to be angry. I think, if anything, if you want your employees to get along better, hold some ethics training. Instruct them a little bit on workplace morality and tolerance towards everybody (without hitting on specific references). If the badgering of other employees continues, use punishments. Dock them pay, raise insurance premiums, threaten time off. If it still doesn't stop just fire them. What everyone needs is to learn that in every workplace, not just yours, there have been influxes of a "global" economy, meaning you work with everybody from everywhere, everyday (sometimes more directly than others). Your employees just need a bit of a talking to and above all they need to all be treated EQUALLY so that they cannot possibly feel one man is pulling more weight than the others.

I'm a black female and I agree with toffefan! Just because at one time things were swatted at us does not mean that we have to feel the need to be revengeful. Yes I believe that chances go around. However, you would just be sinking to the levels of people who were evil and misguided probably from home being taught that it was ok to treat minorities or people from the lesser class like dirt. 2 Wrongs definitely doesn't make a right! And somebody's got to be the mature one. Let it be you.

Never stoop to someone elses level, expecially if they are less fortunate because what goes around comes around and you never know when you might be on the bottom of that chain. I know when your a minority (I am too) and sometimes revenge sounds so sweet but most the time, its not the ones under you that are the problem, its the ones that are over you. Because it sounds like to me your not the owner.

You are in a position of authority and should not abuse your power. Trying to make someone "work harder" because you don't like their point of view is not only illegal it's wrong. If you don't like the work atmosphere then you should seek a different job in a different environment.

The surest way to have them continue to treat you differently is to treat them differently. People who practice racism simply re-inforce other people stereotypical opinions. If you want these guys to see how capable and professional you are then you need to rise above the racial BS. Show them they were wrong dude.

you may as well fire them and hire illegals
that's what most in your position do
you will need twice as many to do the job
but you can pay them 60% less
if you let them use your kids and your wife's ssi #s you can fire them later and draw there unemployment
when you retire you can draw there ssi
