Not at all. There are lots of things you can do ahead of time. Pick your colors and theme (if any). Decide on location (prime locations book 1 1/2 to 2 years ahead). You just can't order anything that has the date on it. I started my planning 1 1/2 years ahead of time and had so many things done it was just a question of ordering the final items that carried the date (favor ribbons, invitations, napkins, ect). Not having to rush the final 6 months before your wedding: PRICELESS!.

If it's '07 I would definitely start planning now. I got engaged in December and married in September and it was still a lot of planning and rushing around that I had to do in that amount of time. You want to book the ceremony and reception site first. If you decide to do it in '08 then I would still start looking at places and talk to the people in charge to find out how early you need to book things. Even if you decide to do it in '08, the more you have done early the less stressed you will be when the time starts getting close.

Start putting at least a budget together if its in 2008. If you decide 2007, start planning NOW. Summer is a hot season for weddings and your favorite places will book up fast if they havent been booked already. Check out an online wedding planner for ideas of where to start. One that I have been using that has helped me every step of the way so far is www.ezweddingplanner.com. Good luck and Congratulations!

It's never too early to start! Wedding and reception sites book up usually a year in advance, so it's good to get those booked sooner rather than later. If you don't know your exact date, it is hard to plan that though. You can pick things up here and there so the financial burden isn't all closer to the wedding. But keep in mind that your tastes and trends may change in the next 2 years...so you may end up with things you changed your mind about. Good luck!

I would wait a little longer... doesn't hurt to start clipping and getting ideas but don't buy anything. I bought some wedding stuff and my wedding is still a year away and now I am starting to change my mind.... it's tough. I rushed and bought a dress cause it fits great, and it was on clearance and now they are putting out this nice dresses and I am trying NOT to think about it..... but maybe I should have waited....

Starting to save and budget is prob the best thing you can do for perparing for a wedding!!

Not too soon... It gives you plenty of time that way! I would at least start saving and get the site and reception hall reserved so you get what you want :)

You could start picking colors, flowers, dresses, the inviations you like, the cake style you like and the bridesmaids and groomsmen....other than that though I don't think you could do anything else. That stuff is time consuming and could be done now.
