I think its because if you have your alarm set to the same time everyday then your internal clock becomes used to waking up at that time and start waking up early. I personally do not use an alarm because they annoy the crap outta me. =] But I also think the action of setting the alarm tells your brain that you want to wake up at this time and so your brain wakes up at that time or earlier. My brain works this way except I dont use the alarm, I just tell myself to wake up at a certain time the night before and I usually wake up before that. I hope this somehow answers your question. =]

people have an internal alarm clock and your body gets set to getting up at a certain time. i do this everyday. even on the days that i'm off which kind of sucks.

it is all in the conditioning. If you get up at the same time every day, your body becomes used to it and can actually begin to anticipate when the alarm clock will go off.

Isn't that crazy. This happens to me like 3-4 times a week. I get so upset, because I'm like "UGH I could have slept for 1 or 2 more mins" :)

I havea good friend who never has to set an alarm because she's got one in her body- its kinda weird.

because they are aware of time...everybody has an internal biological alarm and that one is ticking
