We were brought up in more innocent times so it's very difficult to relate to the younger 'kids' and their hurry to establish an intimate relationship. Personally, I would wait until I was comfortable in the relationship and felt that the fellow liked me for who I am rather than just a 'bed partner'. You should know after 3 - 6 dates but don't be shy about stating that you'd rather wait a bit longer. If he's a gentleman, he'll comply. If he only has 'one thing' on his mind, he'll move on and you'll be better off without him. DO be prepared that some men will flatter you, tell you what you want to hear, use you and then leave your life without even an explanation or goodbye and that can hurt like hell. Just because we're middle-aged doesn't mean our hearts can't be broken. Good luck to you..... By the way, I notice that our avatars are similar! :o)

There are no rules or guidelines when it comes to love. You control your heart and what it feels. If you feel like it's time to take your relationship to the next level, then go for it. Just make sure it's right for you and the person involved.

Most men who are just dating you - no relationship - will expect you to put out within 3 dates. If you don't.. then they will drop you and move on. So.. you need to decide within that time frame if you want to or not. If you don't... then you will definatly have a lot more first, second and third dates!!!! but not a lot of fourth, fifth, etc...

Go with the flow.

Love "guideline" are all BS. If you need to have rules when talking love, then you are gonna have problems with it. Relax, have fun, let the wave of love carry you.

It all depends on the two people involved. If you are ready for that step then take it! Only you know how you feel, if you are ready, and as far as I am concerned, to HELL with guidelines!
