being unable to move while sleeping is a fairly common thing and has a medical answer. Heard something about it recently on TV but don't remember the details. Seeing shadows could be what you think it is. I see them and also have noises in my house that shouldn't be happening -- as an example, one of my hall cupboard doors has a magnetic fastener and I will often hear it click shut when no one is home. there are others. Also I have a ghost which I used to see all the time and since I don't see him anymore, I thought he had left. But my caretaker, who never was told anything about him, told me she sees a man walking down the hall. He used to walk down the hall and look in the bedrooms. It is my father in law checking on his family. He visits other members of the family - the ones who still live in the same houses they lived in when he died. But not the ones who have moved to new houses.

I won't say outright there are no ghosts or any kind of spiritual world but I would talk to an actual dr. A general practitioner b/c they might have info on 'diseases' the common person is not aware of; I'd look for a rational reason first and see if anything can be done before I jump to a super-natural conclusion

I have always felt that my daughter knew stuff. Recently she had a friend that was hit by a car and killed. My daughter is 8 so it affected her in a way that I can't understand. I was fixing her hair 2 days after the death and all of the sudden her face brightened up, I could see it in the mirror. She said mom, my friend just walked by the door in a blue dress and smiled and waved at me. I am getting chill bumps again while talking about. I was told later that the friend was buried in a light blue dress. So yes I believe in ghosts. I do not believe that a ghost will cause you not to be able to move though. God would not allow it.

I have had personal experiences with souls without bodies or ghost as some call them. I have seen these souls during the day and also at night. There are many sites with good information on line and also yahoo groups has a lot of groups dedicated to looking into and talking about these things. If you would like more info email me and I will send you some links.

I believe in ghosts. I'm not sure if what you're referring to is ghosts but I do believe in them. I had one instance where I could not move while I was sleeping. I had fallen asleep on the couch and I woke up and my friend asked me a question. I was wide awake but as soon as she asked it, my head fell back and I fell asleep. I was half awake trying to speak or move my legs or arms and no part of my body would move. I couldn't even make a sound - I was terrified. I have no idea what happened.

this is called sleep paralysis .. and JP is correct it is often accompanied with hypnagogic state
it is a normal natural occurence and happens to about 40 % of the population even though it mostly goes unnoticed
what happens is that prior to dream sleep the body releases a chemical which stops us moving so we cannot act out our dreams
sometimes this is released too early , or we wake once it has released .. giving us a feeling that we cannot move and often a heaviness to our chest
only the head , feet and genital area has feeling during this time

the shadows are common with the hypnagogic state which brings about waking dreams so to speak
a doctor can help if it is too frequent or disturbing for you xx

The shadows COULD be demons. I have seen one, and it looked EXACTLY like a shadow sitting on the adjascent bed, with lava eyes, the size of pupils of the eyes. If you wake up, just say,"Jesus, I need you," out loud, quietly to not wake anyone.

yeah, thats energy- it may be a "ghost" it may be left over energy from the person who lived there before you... when I first moved into the apartment I live in now I had a really hard time with the same thing- it freaked me out. as it turns out, the girl who lived in my room before me painted her room while sobbing because her grandfather died- she literally painted her sadness into the walls. I had a little talk with my room- said a few things- cleared the air. I don't have that problem anymore (I knowit sounds crazy, I'm not crazy) write me if you have more questions...
