The bigger issue here is getting some intervention for your son and not the vaccines. He needs to be tested...most likely through use of a CARS assessment. I don't know where you live, so I can't tell you exactly where to go, but here are some thoughts. Try his doctor, but they are often times no help with autism. If you live in the US and your child is under three he would be eligible for free or low cost testing and treatment through your county human services birth to three program. Call human services and ask to speak to someone in the developmental disabilities unit. Do not stop until you get a formal diagnosis from a qualified person (PhD, PsyD or developmental pedicatrician). If you live near a state university they may also offer testing. Please do not delay...early intervention leads to greater chance of recovery

I personally don't believe that vaccines cause autism, however, that doesn't mean that it isn't possible. Many vaccines get a bad rap because autism hits right around the same time that many of these vaccinations are given. My brother has a "mild" form of autism and I remember my parents going from specialist to specialist before a diagnosis was made, so I feel for you. First of all, any doctor that tells you that your one year old is ADD, is full of crap. I think that your best bet is to find a good children's hospital in your area that has a pediatric neurologist and perhaps a psychiatrist that specializes in children. In my brother's case it was a psychiatrist that got him tested and ruled out emotional causes. Once that was done, the ball was rolling. There are several really great websites that could help you out. one is www.autisim-society.org and the other is www.kidsmentalhealth.org/Autisim.html. I really hope that this helps. My brother is productive and doing great.

First, don't listen to these people. The CDC is the LAST place to take info on, as they are not willing to admit there could be a link. Second, you can ask your pediatrician for a referral to a DAN dr. in your area and they can run specific tests to test for the amounts of mercury and metals in his system. While this isn't conclusive to saying for sure it was from the shots, it's a fairly good indication. You said this happened overnight... was this within hours (up to 72) of receiving a shot? If so, chances are that CONTRIBUTED. I do not believe that immunizations in and of themselves CAUSE autism, but I do believe based on my own research that it is a trigger. That means that children are born with a genetic tendency to develop autism when certain environmental triggers occur, and immunizations are one of those. Not just the mercury, but all the other junk that they put into those. My child is autistic and never received a vaccine, so I know they are not the only cause. In my case, it was obvious from birth that something was wrong, but when we moved to a new house when he was almost two is when he changed overnight, literally. Keep in mind, even if you could prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that they caused his autism, it's not going to help him in terms of recovery, unfortunately. It's better now to just focus on getting him the therapies he needs, and trying to find ways to help him. If you have diagnoses for him, they should be able to point you in the right direction. Sensory integration therapy. They have made the difference in my child and the one I babysit. Feel free to contact me for support and ideas.

Hi, I believe that vaccines played a hand in both of my perfectly typical children developing autism. One had shots at 12 months and w/in 2 weeks regressed which goes against the standard 'It 's coincidence and not the shots 18-24 months is when autism happens'.

For us we did a year of 30+hours a week of therapy. We used sign language which helped a little. It was not until we started the gfcf diet (gfcfdiet.com) that we had huge improvement. We also later found out that our children had an underlying metabolic disorder (check out umdf.org). They need l-carnitine every day and when we started that we had another huge gain in skills. Now one can pass for a typical child and the other most people think is only slightly speech delayed. A great yahoo group is meta-mito-autism.

BTW, we have never done any booster shots. Once a year we get blood drawn to check for titers. Thus far they are still immune and I refuse to vaccinate until necessary (and even then we may not). We are afraid we might experience another regression. Good luck!

Talk to his pediatrician about seeing a specialist. That really is the first thing you need to do. Vaccines causing autism has been a popular theory, but keep in mind that it is just that. Most parents of children with autism will tell you that a change seemed to happen overnight. Talk to your son's doctor and go to www.autism-society.org to find resources in your area.

We additionally know that there is a genetic predisposition, which performs a significant function. This explains why there's a lots bigger prevalence in boys, as they don't have what i like to call the "backup chromosome" (they have xy extremely of xx) the subject with vaccines is they provide lots of so right now. it extremely is no longer healthful or mandatory to do it that way. I waited with my daughter till she grew to become into 4 to supply all yet some vaccines. additionally, the excellent subject grew to become into initially the mercury in vaccines, which has considering been bumped off. it extremely is stable which you subject. stable success.

vaccines have not been proven to cause autism. Autism just starts to be noticeable around the same time as some vaccines are given. Children who never receive vaccines can still develop autism.
