I have tried everything, table food, having her sit with the family, nothing is working the only thing i can get her to eat is cracker and cookies. She won't let me feed her, she refuses to open her mouth and if i do she either gags or tries spitting it back out. What do I do???

I agree with Telumdedeus, I am sick of hearing about parents feeding their children (under the age of 1) off the table foods. People, the baby food company's make this stuff for a reason. It has the proper enzymes and bacteria that need to be introduced into the baby's GI tract in order for proper digestion later in life. Try some formula (not whole milk until after age 1 yr). Experts have researched that the possible reason for so many peanut allergies of today is because parents are introducing too much adult food to children at an early age. Because the baby's digestive system can not tolerate the levels of toxins in processed foods, the body rejects this food and the child is allergic to it for possibly the rest of its life. Your baby will grow up and eat at the table like everyone else soon enough. In the meantime have some patience, speak to a proper nutritionist and feed your baby well.

She's starting to respond to different consistancies! My son STILL won't eat meat...give him chicken nuggets though..try that..she doesn't want baby food or to be fed..maybe just put some things on the table and hope she'll pick one up...she won't starve to death...she'll get hungry enough to eat something...don't have crackers or cookies as one of the choices...french fries are another big one for my son...anything he can walk around eating...like a cookie or cracker...my son is almost 3 and still doesn't like to sit down to eat...except cereal in milk...

do not give her anything. if she will not eat wait till the next meal to feed her. she will not starve. Do not even keep crackers and cookies in the house. She is already training you to do as she pleases.

You take away the crackers and the cookies and you put real food in front of her for every meal until she gets it. If she cries for cookies or crackers, do not give them to her.

Well she's not dat small i would tell you to like for example if you cook, give her some of it, put a little bit in the blender and will look just like Gerber. I'm giving you this advice because I'm just 15 and I have 2 little brothers and that is what my mom gives them. Just don't be afraid of giving her food because giving her only crackers might give her a stomach ache.

i've got chanced on that well-being nurses quite much constantly say that toddlers must be ingesting greater! And in the event that they do no longer, it quite is through fact you're overfeeding the little one!! My daughter is now 17 months old and has been having 3 bottles an afternoon through fact she replaced into eleven months old. At 8 months, she replaced into having 4-5 bottles an afternoon and the paed stated that replaced into the the ideal option volume of formula to be having. Is your daughter healthful, energetic and fascinated in her ecosystem? Is she gaining weight and following her very own guy or woman strengthen curve (plot her strengthen on percentile charts)? if so, she is ingesting the the ideal option volume. toddlers recognize ways plenty they might desire to devour and can be allowed to assert while they have had sufficient. it quite is the mummy and father' job to furnish healthful food generally and it quite is the little one's job to decide on how plenty to devour. additionally, do no longer hassle with regard to the snacks. My daughter has 3 food and 3 bottles an afternoon and could on occasion have an afternoon snack, yet in many cases she won't. merely pay attention on your daughter and feed her while she is hungry.

I got my baby daughter to like other foods by mixing them with what she really loved to eat (bananas and crackers) and then gradually decreasing the amount of bananas or crackers and increasing the amount of the other food in the mix. It worked like a charm and by the end of her first year she loved to eat everything I would put in front of her (even spinach and green beans!).

I went through this with my son 18 years ago. All he would eat was cereal. This went on for 1 week so I called his doctor. We made an appointment to check him out and make sure he wasn't losing any weight.
Well to our surprise he had gained weight. We made him sit with us during dinner and gave him his cereal. Eventually he got tired of the cereal and started eating everything in the house. I still can't get him to stop eating. If it goes on for a long time or if you notice her losing weight, then I would start to worry. Eating something is better than not eating at all.

This is so simple. No crackers. No cookies. Unless she eats what is put in front of her, she doesn't eat. I promise you - she won't starve. She will learn to eat a variety of foods. Let her cry - just put her in another room or walk away. Who is the parent here?
