I would.. you don't know how quickly you will dilate, and once your water has broken your chances for infection are increased... how ever if you are not experiencing contractions very close together you maybe want to wait it out. But you should call your doctor and ask asap.

No! Many women don't go into labor for some time after the water breaks, and if you go to the hospital they will want to do a cervical exam (although you can decline it) which will introduce risk of infection, and regardless once you step through those doors you are on the clock and need to be in active labor within a certain time period or they will want to do an induction or c-sec even if it's not actually medically indicated. Getting to the hospital too early also is well known for making labor stall, so again you're on your way to risky interventions. Best to wait until your labor is well underway, and in the meantime just don't put anything up there!

Yes you should go to the hospital right away if you water breaks....you could have the baby at any time. Your water breaking doesn't neccsarily mean that you will have the baby right away but you do need to have an exam to see where you are in the delivery process. It can still be days until you have the baby but it could also be hours or even minutes....It really depends on the person.

If your water breaks you need to get there as soon as possible but you do not need to rush. My water broke, without any contractions, at 3 in the morning, I called the hospital and was told I needed to come in but there was no need to panic. After packing and dropping off my dogs at the sitters and sitting through morning traffic we arrived at the hospital by 8am. If you are experiencing contracts I would say you need to get there asap.

Ya cause usually when your water breaks you go into labour not too long after or at least start feeling good sized contractions, my water broke I went straight in and they hooked me up to everything and checked to see how much I was dilated I wasn't even having bad contractions yet, so I would say definitely yes.

Talk to your caregiver ahead of time and see what they say. They might want you to wait until your contractions are so many minutes apart as well. As long as the water seems clear you don't have to high-tail it....if it's greenish or brownish then there could be a problem with baby passing his first stool in the womb and you should go ASAP. Be sure to note what time it was when your water broke.

Depends on how far along you are. If you're full-term, call your OB when your water breaks, and get further instructions. If you're not full-term, go to the hospital immediately.
