I want to whiten my teeth quickly and have always wondered something. If I brushed my teeth from 8am to 10pm, besides a stinging mouth, would it have the same effect as if I brushed them say 3 times a day for three months? Would it whiten them immediately? This is a serious question!!

You'll damage the enamel. Just brush properly twice a day or after anything especially starchy or sugary (sticky). Good idea to rinse well (I even rinse with mild bicarb solution) after something acidic, like fruits and juices, especially carbonated stuff - avoid brushing for a while after acidic stuff, as it can make your enamel a little more vulnerable to the abrasion.

No it will not work infact over brushing will damage the enamel on your teeth. If you want to whiten your teeth peroxide works very well. Gargle with one part water and one part peroxide for at least 30 seconds daily before or after brushing your teeth. Do not swallow it! spit it out afterwards as you would a mouthwash.

Brushing your teeth too abrasively and excessivly can cause ur gums to receed leading to sensativity problems. Also whitening toothpaste isn't very effective.I would go to the detist and use their product or if money is an issue Crest white strips have great results.Do know that if you have teeth that have had white fillings, silver, crowns,or veneers they do not whiten!-angie-RDA

It all really depends on your teeth. I brush my teeth three times a day and haven't had a cavity in three years. I also use mouthwash, floss and use a special toothpaste my doctor prescribed me. My teeth are really sensitive and I get cavities very easily so I'm not sure if it's the special toothpaste or what but definitely consult with your dentist. Hope this helps :)

I think that much brushing would hurt your teeth, since the toothpaste is abrasive. It would be better and less harmful to use a whitening product.

it would be alot easier to use a whitining product that works at night, brushing your teeth that much will not work - if anything it will rub enamel off your teeth, and your arm will get sore from brushing so long...seriously try something like Crest White Strips - they can be found at any drug store or supermarket

Whitening your teeth is easy. Buy Listerine whitening mouthwash or chew gum to whiten your teeth. There is gum that whitens your teeth.

If you want to brighten your teeth quickly, then find a specialist to help you. If you go to a dentist, they can do it for you in about 2 hours. Alternatively, if you happen to live in a city that has a 'BriteSmile' spa, they can do it in about 90 minutes.

~Baking Soda ~
Pour a little baking soda in a bowl, wet your toothbrush, daub it in the baking soda and brush. You will surprised how well this works. You will be smiling in no time :)
I wouldn't do this more than once a week, it also removes the plaque.
