Buy a cheap cut of beef and cut it into strips.

My 2 favorite marinades are:
Soy sauce and honey (similar to a teriaki sauce)

or

Louisiana hot sauce and a touch of brown sugar (hot and spicy)

If you want you can even add some cracked black pepper into your marinade.

Marinate it over night in the refrigerator and not at room temperature. I'm not sure why the refigerator makes a difference but it does.

Put it on a food dehydrator after it has marinaded and let it go until it's done.

This is nothing fancy, but it's the only one I've found...

"Beef Jerky" - 1/2 pound

1 lb. boneless beef round steak
1 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 tsp. pepper

1) Freeze meat 1 hour to firm (makes slicing easier); trim and discard fat from steak. Cut steak into very thin slices.
2) Place strips in single layer on wire rack in jelly-roll pan. Sprinkle with garlic salt and pepper.
3) Bake at 200* about 6 hours until beef is dry. Cool; store in covered container in refrigerator.
