All tasty foods usually go together in one way or another, it's about the color. For instance, if you put candied yams and candied carrots together, it looks horrible and therefore will not taste good to the consumer. However, it you put candied yams together with a green like broccoli or whatever you want, it is pleasing to look at and therefore the mind perceives it as tasting good. But peanut butter and onions??? Oh my Lord "horsegirl". that's sick. Anyway, just think about color. Never mix 2 of the same colors together or similar colors together. Mix it up and I think you will like what you see and taste. Good luck

Sushi and chocolate cake, beans and strawberries, fried marmite, curried cherries, watermelon fries........the possibilities for bad gustatory experiences are limitless.

Personally, I like pickles and mayonnaise, also like chicken wings with bleu cheese dressing and hot sauce but blue cheese on pizza is not my dish. However, who would have ever though so many people would like ham and pineapple on pizza?

I once had a dessert at a wedding reception that was several types of creme brulee with odd flavors. The weirdest, and the tastiest, had sage in it! I can still remember the taste and it was two years ago!

I also found some dishes on a website that chefs have prepared that look like they "shouldn't" go together:

Pumpkin-and-squid ravioli

Carpaccio of cauliflower with chocolate jelly

Apple red-cabbage gelee and chestnut praline (chocolate filling)

They even mention fried calamari with watermelon and cantaloupe!
