Call your local bakery and ask them if you can have a cake tasting, then you can choose the kind you like. Get you husbands opinion on the ring for him.

the wedding cake is such a minimal part of your day. We got a plain white teired one and had it covered in flowers that matched my bouqet. As for the ring...shouldn't you be out shopping together? You'll be wearing them for the rest of your lives.
