"You, YOU! are saying YOU like ME? Why you little girl, you! What makes you think I would even LOOK at you! I can't believe it! The ugliest girl this side of town and YOU are interested in ME?!? What do you think I am? Desparate?!? You are disgusting! Oh, would you like to go out (hahaha)? Give me a break! You talk funny, the cloths you wear wouldn't turn a light on, you call that a 'hair style', and your acne scars are the WORSE! Don't even think I will lower myself to your level. HA! You are even over-weight, not obese, but still tipping the scale. I like my women tight and shapely! You are a loose bag with fat ripples. Hey, see those people over there? 'Hey, fellows, you'll never guess what? This so-and-so confessed she likes me!' (and those people laugh) Stop your lousy crying you *****. Geez, just go away!"
That has NEVER EVER happend to me. But, that is the fear I get when I like a guy. Is this what other people think when it comes to rejection?

You can avoid it entirely by not making the first move - if a guy is worth it and worth it meaning will be devoted to you as much as you are him HE will make the move. If he doesnt then hes really not that bothered and you dont need him so do yourself a favour and dont waste time worrying about getting embarrassed - most of the guys arent worth it.

I understand this fear, in fact I have fears simmilar, but not so errm... drastic. I feel a fear deep inside, where my insides and heart turn to ice, It makes me feel like a coward, though for the most part I dont have any fears. I came to realize though that if you like someone you just got to go for it, so long as the moment is right for how you confess. But if someone gave a reaction like that, were they worth the trouble and effort? No, not at all, so now you know that they are not worth that trouble. I don't normally think about these personal things openly, but now that I truely think about it, I'd say my worst fear is that when I spill the beans that I like a girl, there is a cirtain look that a girl can give, no words are needed, in fact the moment i get that look the words dissapear.

Not me, if you feel like you like this person, then you must of been able to get an idea of what type of person he is.Fear what is that, Friends always is the way to begin a relationship, there is nothing to lose or be scared of, you either gain a new friend which could lead to something more later on, or saved yourself from a weasel that makes the good guys look bad.

Well, rejection is always a possibility. But you have to be confident in who you are as a person, so if someone ever does say that to you, you can walk away with your head up knowing that person is a jerk and not worth ever pursuing. Make sure you have self respect honey, and it then doesn't matter what the other person says to you. You know better! Good luck!

Everybody has a fear of rejection - but sometimes we try and overcome it or inspite of the fear we take a chance and go for it - because it could be sooo good too and you don't want to miss out on an opportunity because you are afraid.

I have a fear of rejection but nothing like that. I think most people just don't want to get their egos hurt at least that is what I feel. Nobody wants to feel like they are not attractive enough for somebody they are interested in.

Oh yes I would be so upset if someone did me wrong. Just say no, don't hoe me at the same time. I would CRY for days. Although most boys just say NAW, or something but you never know what they're saying behind your back!

In the reverse sense (me asking a girl out), yes.
the thing is, if you like this person, and are right in assuming that they're great to hang out with and able to hold a decent conversation, then it won't happen. if you have a reasonable doubt, the relationship might've failed anyway. good luck.

I think it's just the 'No' part that scares the hell out of me :) Because then, the next question is...."Why??" :)
