Actually, September 23rd

09-23-2006 04:02

Also:

"At the autumnal equinox (Sept. 23, 2006, 12:03 A.M. EDT), the sun appears to cross the celestial equator, from north to south; this marks the beginning of autumn in the Northern Hemisphere."

Hope this clarifies it!

Autumn begins at different times in different calendars. The Astronomical Autumn begins with the Autumnal Equinox which occurs about September 23 in the Northern Hemipshere and about March 21 in the Southern Hemipshere.

The Celtic Autumn began August 1. The Roman Autumn began September 1.

PS - Since you call autumn fall, you must live in North America.
