walking any time is good for you
Assuming that you do not have any digestive disorders,
The best way to improve digestion is not to be eating heavy meals, it is difficult for your body to process an overload of food \
Why not try 3 small meals and 3 snacks - it will not only improve your digestion but will also speed up your metabolism

When I goto NYC, I eat at retaurants all the time - of course. So after we would get done eating a giant meal, we would have to walk back to our hotel or just walk around for fun. It helped A LOT. Within the hour, I didnt feel full anymore, and it was nice to feel like I had worked off everything I ate. Im pretty sure that if I didnt walk much in NYC after eating, I would have gained about 10 lbs lol.

Eat lightly before strenuous physical activity (like running, swimming, or cycling, aerobics, heavy weight lifting etc.) Some people get reflux (the system backs up and you regurgitate your food) if you exercise after a meal because you are increasing your intra-abdominal pressure whille lifting weights. Also your body is trying to simultaneously divert blood to your digestive tract and your large muscle groups, heart and lungs, so you are stressing it to some degree.
A brisk walk after a meal actuallly stimulates digestion and increases venous blood flow in general. Lying down after a heavy meal can also cause reflux.

Definitely walking. You don't know why it's bad for you because there is no reason why it's bad.

It's good because it helps digest your food and picks up your energy to help you feel good and not sluggish after a heavy meal.

Now, you shouldn't go running after a meal-- you could catch a cramp.

Right after If your comfortable. You would be better off walking before dinner.

Its like when you go weight lifting. After you are done you need to replenish within an hour of it. This isnt the same but usually you don't eat right before a workout unless you are comfortable.

I would keep the same reasoning here unless your body tells you otherwise.

a diet book I read once (The Carbohydrate Addict's Diet said to wait 20 minutes after a meal and the exercise (walk) for 30 minutes to help speed up metabolism; you have to do it for 2 of the 3 meals a day; it seemed to work until I had to go back to work and couldn't fit the walks in twice a day

It's good to walk.. Maybe you heard not to run and jump after eating, because it would surely make you vomit..!! But if you just walk casually, it ain't biggy.. It helps you digest your food because your body is moving and it also helps you to have a straight back.. Because if you're full and you just sit back there and relax, your back would probably hurt..
