My question is , How many on line have family , friends, or other know relatives, that are working on the (china opps) american wall rather boarderto keep Mexicans out of the states, and fell this is all a waste of time and money when it is known that, in the ear future. It will not amount to anythimg because walls were made to be knocked down . why useour troops to build a fence. When they are needed else where is this what we pay taxes for, the divider is costing more to put up than, what it taked for illegals to cross and, go back at our expense, and slip back in..

I wish our government would put our military on the border with live bullets...more effective all the way around!

No one can because it isn't being built yet.Our troops need to be home protecting this nation and its borders not some little pis-ant country that doesn't want or need us there.I live in a border state and we need any kind of deterrent we can get to help stop the endless flow of illegal
aliens into this country.Think about it this way ,if it wasn't going to be a help then WHY is the Mexican government spending millions of dollars to try to prevent it being built. It must be a worry to him that he cant get all his poor people over here so Mexico will keep getting the billions of dollars in remittances sent back to Mexico by the illegal aliens..They know it will help in some small way and to me that's worth it.I will gladly pay more in taxes for any thing that will stop the illegal aliens from sucking this nation dry and giving nothing back.

The problem will not be fixed with a blunt object type solution. The wall is being built because it is a simple-minded solution that everyone can understand, and it allows the government to spend a few billions, which ends up in friends' pockets.

Unfortunately, complex problems don't make for good stump speeches, so we will continue to hear "Throw them all out" and "Build a wall" and "Shoot them if they try to cross"

I agree we need to strengthen the border. But we also need to create a situation where they don't want to come across, by increasing investment in Mexico, punishing employers, and making more pragmatic decisions about what to do with the people who came here under a "Don't ask, don't tell" type policy.

Well I don't know anyone who is working on the border fence (not wall) but I don't feel it is a waste of time and money. It will save us money in the future when we won't have to pay for services for illegal immigrants. If the fence is built properly and the border patrol is increased, they will not slip back in (at least not in the area where the fence is being built.)

Where did they find the funding to build the fence the American people want ? If they are deported harsher laws should be applied for repeat offenders. Catch and release is a failed program as fast as they release them within weeks they return as if they never we're deported. As it is sneaking across the border with suggests our immigration l laws are to relaxed and seem to be more in favorite of Mexico intersts not ours

The wall is a silly, simplistic answer to the problem, designed to placate silly, simplistic people. The ONLY way to halt illegal immigration is to severely punish those who exploit the situation. Slap a penalty of $40,000 fine and 5 years in prison for anyone (or the officers of any corporation) who hires or harbors an illegal and those attempting to enter will be swept back by the tide of those leaving.

I don't have any family or friends that are working on the American wall.

We need to build and electrify the fences! You say, they will still get in.

I guess they will eventually get over the fence, when the pile of fried bodies gets high enough.

Oviously you're batting for the other team!

You must have family and friends you want to cross the boarder.

I don't feel that a fence along the border is a waste of money. I do feel that the money that taxpayers put into your education was a waste of money as you can't seem to spell to save your life.
