(1) PAY OFF ALL DEBTS! That would be the first thing.
(2) Help poor people at random
(3) start a foundation to help poor families with children's hospital bills.
(4) Build a Pet Hospital that would also accomodate the poor who benefit by having pets (the elderly and homeless especially).
(5) Help foriegn Missionaries bring the Gospel Message, Clothes and FOOD and medical supplies to the poor villiagers in remote regions of the world
(6) Invest large sums in various businesses and the money market so that I would have a guaranteed income - enough to keep all the above priorities in tact.
(7) Spend a little on myself. Nothing fancy - just a simple home, no mansions or stupid stuff like that. A new car, maybe a truck.

I would start by talking to a tax attorney to minimize the amount that I had to share with the government. I would invest the money so I and my heirs could keep giving to charitable causes forever.
I would start by thinking of ways to give the money to charities that would do the most good. I would focus on charities that have innovative ideas for solving problems and improving people's lives. I'd want to empower people to help themselves, not just help them through the day, week or month, only to find them in need again after my help dries up.
In the world of medical research I would fund the Myelin Repair Foundation as it meets those criteria, and I have MS.
I might use some money to promote political/social causes I support, like school choice.
For myself, I'd buy a nicer house, with a nice home theater and an indoor pool as I use a wheelchair and aqua exercise is helpful for me and possible for me.
I'd help my friends and family with their needs.
Definitely the bottom line would be figuring out how to help the most people possible with the money.

I first wonder what situation would bring me that kind of money...lol. Out of the 6.9 billion, 6 billion for certain goes to charities that I want to give to. (I would seek legal advice on this and make sure every cent reaches the people it should in kind.) The rest of the 0.9 billion go to my family - education, houses, investments, travel....

Invest this in a bank or something.
Then I would share with people who needed money for
childrens who need health care, in the U.S. or at least in my part of the country. Someone who would get an education like a doctor to help others.

I'd probably take some for a new houes for my fiance and I. I'd invest a chunk and the rest I would donate to charaties (probably AIDS, Cancer, Diabeties, and SPCA). 5 billion is too much money for anyone to play with, share the welth I say.

I would hire someone to help develop jobs for the urban poor in 10majors cities I would fund soup kitchens in another 50 to 100 cities and I would hire A few doctors to treat the disadvantaged. Then hire someone to research and develop programs to help all the needy and disadvantaged so they can live a dignified life they we're entitled to. All in the USA only.
