I've never drunk more than one glass of water a day. I know, WRONG... but I was used to do that since I was a little kid. I would eat my meal and afterwards I'd realize (or my father would realize) that I had nothing to drink during the meal and he'd pour me a glass of water and I'd just take a zip. And well, I didn't drink much throughout the day either.
Of course that I'm not a little kid anymore and I take care of myself now. I try to drink as much water as I can throughout the day (I've been trying to drink around 2lts for the past 2 weeks) and I was wondering when would my body adjust to it and stop retaining liquids and if the change would be noticiable. I forgot to add that I LOVE salt, and I'm eating almost no salt now.

Thanks in advance for your replies

Great! Lower your sodium intake and your body will naturally flush out the excess by your drinking LOTS of water, not just sips of water, GLASSES. 2 lts is a good place to start, but you may also be needing an electrolyte balancing agent (aka sports drinks) to replenish your cells and rehydrate your body. Salts are a necessary part of any lifeform but table salt is actually a toxin in vast amounts--some you may not even realize contain salt. Be sure to increase your exercise and add fiber to your diet to aid in the flushing of toxins in your system. You will soon adjust to the difference in liquid intake, but to be sure, if you have a history of cardiac problems in your family, you may want to check with your physician if you are experiencing edema (swelling) that does not go away quickly. Be sure that your diet is balanced and you are getting adequate FRESH fruits and vegetables as they also are high in fiber and water.

Good Luck and Be Well.

you're protecting fluids. Drink better water, a lot less sodas, decrease your salt intake, prop your ft up once you could, placed on loose low footwear. See a clinical specialist. you would properly be diabetic or when you're on delivery controll which will make you keep fluids. strong success!
