Will someone give me the lowdown on how to get him a social security number, what are the advantages or disadvantages of dual citizenship and how soon can he work in the US?

call or visit your local Social Security business...look in phone book for number.

Your husband-to-be is the only person who can apply for his Social Security Number. There are no real advantages to dual citizenship and he can work in the U.S. as soon as he has a Social Security Number. I assume you mean working legally.

If you are getting married inside the U.S. it may take several months to obtain a permanant resident visa. It can sometimes take a little shorter if you are married outside the U.S.

It took me about 10 days to get my visa when I married in London. It took my brother about 9 months when he married in Los Angeles.
