It can take a long time or it can take a few weeks. Depends on the kind of person you are.If you are sensitive then it may take long but if you look at it and say we were not meant to be together then it will be of short duration

The answer would, of course, depend on a number of factors but shrinks say that a general rule of thumb is that it takes "one month of recovery time for every year of the relationship".

So if you're together for 10 years then you'll be damaged goods for at least 10 months after the break up.

as long as it takes, there is no time limit, every one has a different heart and soul and so each person does things differently and feels things differntly, take YOUR time....you will figure it out when you fall in love with the next one

I dont think there is a set amount of time I think it just gets a little bit easier every day but there will be times when there will be reminders that will get you down but you just have to stay strong and it will get easier.

Took me 5months. And nearly two years later i still find myself occasionally thinking of them. Those 5 months were primarily filled with grieving basically. Now I couldn't really care less, but still wonder "what if".

That depends on you. You will know when you are ready for a new relationship don't push it and rush yourself. Go out with your friends and have fun and love will find you when you least expect it.

Is this person dead?
Did he/she leave you or you him/her?
I am tempted to answer "Until you fall in love with the next person", but cannot until I have more information.
I do know that most people I know whose partners have died have taken FIVE YEARS to accept the loss.

Theres no set time limit on that. Time is the key factor here and you just have to let it work it's self out.
