Tony Blair must be laughing his head off. He pulls the strings and everyone dances to his tune.

Didn't you notice how this all came out when all the cracks in the Labour Party started to show? It is all a media driven smoke screen designed to veil the internal divisions in the Labour Party and you have fallen for it hook, line, and sinker.

If the UK is a free country then people should be able to practise their religion without fear of persecution.

Children should learn about religious differences in school. A muslim woman wearing a veil would have made a lot more interesting teacher than the boring old gits that used to teach at my school. Some of them would have been improved by a veil.

Really don't know, but I wouldn't like it if she was to teach my kids.
Some people have to lip read and also read facial expressions in conversation.

I also understood this woman never wore her veil on interview because she thought that she wouldn't be interviewed by men!?,
So she didn't pass any men on her journey???!!!

And just to make you laugh, I noticed recently that a local woman known for her drug addiction dresses up as a Muslim woman to escape detection!, it was her ultra skinny body, hooked up t-shirt pulled through the neck and sleazy walk in massive platforms that gave it away!

When visiting their country it is Law for us to wear their gear and then they want the British to bend to their rules here, don't think so! They should be made to wear errrrrr .....Shell suits or something similar and nasty, with non-matching tops and bottoms!!!!

Especially when it is the likes of the bombers male and female hidding behind this ridiculous masquerade.

I believe she has contacts with it through her father. You have to be careful not to put every Muslim in the same basket. There are hotbeds of hate every place. It is sad but this sort of situation will only bring more problems. We need to revert to a full Christian country and those who came here should accept that is what it is and live within our laws and traditions, as we would have to do in a Muslim country.

Much as I hate to admit it, I think the French have got it right on this one - separation of church and state and all that. If children have to wear uniforms then the teachers could at least make an effort!

A teacher's no.1 priority is to the children - this obviously isn't the case here, so sack her!

Ok, so she wears a veil.
Does she wear it on her pasport photo/driving licence?
If she was asked for some photo ID to confirm her identity then she would have to remove the veil, so whats the problem, shes obviously selfish and cant see that this argument is going nowhere fast, just teach the kids propley without talking through a tea towel.

she deliberately set out to cause trouble - she was interviewed without a veil and interviewed with men in the room. Then all of a sudden she becomes this sanctimonious 'it's my right' crap. It was a set-up from the start just to cause trouble, knowing full well that any objections made afterwards there'd be accusations of racism. And they wonder why we dont trust them anymore with all this game playing?

Her father runs an islamic school in Dewsbury which was severely criticised by the school inspectors.Shazad Tanweer was a pupil at that school at one point. There is NO suggestion that the two ever met.
Got that?

while i feel the daily mail brigade are v.right wing and we are all becoming very racist (by that i mean everyone- white, black, asian, chinese, christian, muslim, jew... whatever)

I do feel it is highly unfair and out of order to attend an interview for a job NOT wearing a veil (where men are present) then demand that she must wear her veil at all times during class?! If she felt that strongly, why did she misrepresent herself in the interview?

who knows but either way we should be protecting our children and we are not doing so by allowing her to wear a veil and IF she is from the same mosque our concerns are made even more valid.
