I assume you are talking about V.S. OR V.S.O.P......the cheap stuff...yes?
I never drink that stuff as it is inferior swill....all TRUE cognac should be consumed from a snifter, warmed by only the heat of ones hand.
....but...if you must drink the cheaper stuff.....here is a recipie from the dawn of cocktails....the Sidecar....
1/2 oz Cointreau
1/2 oz Cognac
1/2 oz lemon juice
Stir with cracked ice and strain into chilled coktail glass.
Twist lemon peel over drink.

Mix it with nothing, the way it was meant to be drank, unless of course your african-american then who cares because you don't know what it's supposed to taste like. In that case throw whatever you want in there coke, orange juice, go a little sweeter with pineapple or what the hell, bring along your own Hi-C packet and ask for a splash of water, but whatever you do please remember " what da *** dis barh tenda eve do fo me" don't leave a tip!

1. Ice.
2. More Alcohol.

The best thing to mix with any french cogniac.. a cuban cigar and a sweedish bikini model. Anything else pales by comparison.

You need to get at least VSOP or XO and drink it straight. Take small sips and it wont overwhelm you. Nothing like a good cognac after your meal.

"Redmeat", I must concur with your rather accurate assertion. I would use it to clean my toilet and not much more. That said, the only thing that has ever made it consumable for me is to mix it with ginger ale or sprite...

Hypnotiq---hennessy and hypnotiq is the BEST!!! Here in Texas, we call it "the hulk". 5 of these and you'll feel like the hulk--ready to tear some sh*t up!
