I know there are ways to pay for college but i'm just not sure of how to go about it. Anyone know what to do or some good websites that are actually helpful and not just a run around?

There are TONS OF WAYS to pay for college!

I write a blog about student loans and this weeks article (should be posted in a few days) is about this exact topic.

First, fill out your FAFSA form at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov . That will tell you what the government can give you for free or a good deal on. This is how you can get Grants or free money for schooling.

I reccomend scholarships. As many as you can possibly get. There are hundreds, thousands out there that just go unclaimed because no one tries to apply to them.

www.scholarships.com
www.fastweb.com
www.college-scholarships.com
www.finaid.org/scholarships
www.guaranteed-scholarships.com
www.scholarshiphelp.org

Also google your interests/characteristics and the word scholarship. This will give you pages of tons of strange/unique scholarships that most people don't know exist.

I would not ever go for a student loan that is a trap and an never ending bill, you will have for many years to come . try all other goverment grants as ,Pell, waivers, goverment work for scholarships, Philoantrapists help, ect. ect. but do not go for a loan, believe me I paid for one for ten years. when I was not informed I could have gotten grants .

you ahve not mentioned the country. but in india all nationalised banks provide students with education loan at 10% interest per annum for higher education and the same is to be returned after completing the education one year later or six months after getting the job.

After you have applied for financial aid and have gotten as much "free money" as you can get, go to your financial aid office. They should have a lot of information about loans.
