No way...spyware is a programme that intrudes and "spies" on ur computer activity, without ur consent, tracking ur browser history, browsing preferences and sometimes .....even ur keystrokes!!Spyware is uninvited.Limewire, on the other hand,is self-invited.The basic difference is that Limewire is P2P,or pier to pier transfer protocol;that is,data,or the audio-video files u download, are downloaded by connecting to other people's computers, where they are saved. Now,some computer may be infected with a trojan,or spyware, and u are most likely to get that too. So,though not spyware,P2P users stand at a much higher risk of trojans and spywares as compared to other online users. But,never lose heart;be laced witha good antivirus and a firewall,and........enjoy.

No it is not. In the last 2 years I have being using it, I have never being infected with any spyware, trojans etc... When you download a song, video etc,..right click on it and scan it with you anti-virus BEFORE opening it. If anything is detected, you will know there and then. Just dont download any executable files (.exe). They are the ones to look out for.

think of it this way, you are connecting to other computers via software and allowing them access to a certain location on your computer. some utilities view it as spyware. i use limewire pro with no problems.
