I totally DISAGREE. God created this planet to be resourseful and resilent. The WWF is comprised of socialists who want the entire planet to suffer like 3rd world countries. Crap like this has been around for the last 35+ years. Doomsdayers were telling people back in the 1070's how global COOLING was going to destroy the planet. Now it is global WARMING. 20 years from now it will be something else.

I think it depends which resource in particular you talk about, and which country in the world you talk about when you talk about rates of using up resources. However, you can't deny the fact that we could be doing things better. Many states in the US don't even have simple recycling programs yet. I wouldn't coun't on God to save us if we start to wreck the planet. We've got to start using things in a sustainable manner. There's a difference between running a family farm, where the cow manure gets worked back into the land, and running a feedlot, where the cow manure just piles up. There are better and worse ways of doing things and we've got to start moving away from the worse ways of doing things.

I'm not communist. I don't want people to suffer. But by polluting, people are fouling their own nests and being poisoned by thier own waste.

Speaking of third-world countries, they suffer the *worst* from environmental degredation. Kids in Southeast Asia walk to school wearing surgical masks as a weak defense against smog. In some settlements in India, the drinking/bathing water catches on fire if you drop a match in it.

Whether you believe in global warming or not (or feel up to taking the risk), environmentalism entails progress toward *improved* quality of life for humans, starting with public health.
