We are planning a trip to the mall of america in Minnessota..Never been there We will be there all day Fri Sat and Sun. We obviously want to shop, go to the theme park and go to the underwater adventure thing they have. For anyone who has been there, can you tell me a little bit about it, was the theme park any good. The underwater I think its a meuseum. The shopping. You think that 3 days would be enough to do all of that?

I live in Minneapolis and go to the MOA a few times a year... it is ok. A lot of shopping...it's just a really big mall. You could do it all in one day really if you are picky, but three days is more than enough to slowly browse your way through. Personally, I only go for stores that are not at other malls like H&M and Nordstrom and NRack. I also really like Ikea right across the street. Its a good place to get a cheap (.99) breakfast.
There is a new hotel www.waterparkofamerica.com nearby with a cool waterpark. That's where I would stay.
I agree that Undewater world is great for younger kids. Same goes for the amusement rides. If your trip is not until next summer and you will have a car, consider going out to ValleyFair for amusement park rides.

If you have never been then you must go. 3 days will be plenty but your feet will be hurting. Underwater Adventures was pretty cool, I took my family there a couple of months back. I haven't been to the theme park in years, but what can i say, it's a theme park in a mall. The shopping is cool, they have every store you could ever want and more. Have fun!

MOA is a lot of fun, especially if you're shopping. Almost any store you can think of is there. The restaurants are pretty good too.
As far as Underwater World, it is not a museum, it is a guided "tour" of life under water, "starting" in a little creek or river in MN and moving through, via "natural" water ways to the ocean. It's fun enough for adults but my 6 yr old loved it. The theme park is fairly limited but again, kids like it well enough and there are big-kid rides but maybe not as big as a regular, outdoor theme park.
See the attached sites to help plan your trip. (www.sharky is for Underwater World) They should help with solidifying your plans. It's a huge destination for anyone coming in from out of town. I should know, I've got tons of friends and relatives that have asked me to take them there.
Have fun!

Depends on what type of shopper you are, basically their are 3 levels of stores with everything you can imagine...some of them are redundant, like sporting goods, clothing, ect. But you will be busy. The food is good their too, try Bubba Gump Shrimp or the sportsbar on the 2nd level off the amusement park. You should plan on spending at least 1/2 a day doing all the rides in the park.
Another cool site is the indoor waterpark just west of the Mall, it's spendy, but alot of fun too.

You'll be dead tired, I can assure you of that! I've been there several times. I can't speak for the amusement park, but the mini-golf is fun. I don't know where you'll find time because there are so many shops, so many places to browse you can't even wrap your mind around how big it is. In two days we barely made it to the 3rd level and were exhausted! Another time we finally made it to the 4th level just to eat at a different restaurant instead of fast food. Never made it to the IMAX though.
It is totally a lot of fun though. And clear your credit cards! Just write down where you parked if your hotel doesn't have a shuttle, it can be confusing!
Have fun, it's a blast!

Wow, what a coincidence! Do you go to Chicago Christian School, because our band is going there in the spring for a few days too.
Sorry, I cant answer your question, since I am going there for the first time too.
