I'm with you in that I see some stories as completely mythological but some of the stories show 'how things were'. Like when Lot is listed as a just, faithful person b/c he's willing to give his two daughter's to a crazed mob to appease them and keep them from demanding the two male guests. I think some does involve sites the wandering goat herders who wrote 'The Bible' actually came across so it contains clues as to who and where things were.
Why some people can't see or admit that it's a bunch of stories explaining the unknown to a bunch of desert dwellers is beyond me. I don't think it should be changed...I do believe some people need to accept reality and that it contradicts with guesswork from thousands of years ago.

*****

To sum up-It doesn't need to change-people's perception of it does.

Simple, the bible. People have tried to debunk the bible since it was written, and thus far, no one has succeeded. Do the research and you'll see. Better yet, try reading it and make the assessment yourself. The bible is the most read and most researched book ever written in human history; I doubt this would be the case if it was fictional. The price you'll pay for not believing in it is a terrible one, eternity after life in hell. For your sake, at least read it.

If all the fictional elements were removed ALL the Bible would remain. If all the falsehood in your soul were removed, how much of you would be left?

It would still have 66 books with 1189 chapters and all of the verses ... excepting, of course, the false portions where it is quoting satan, etc. ... not that it false quotes those sources; rather, it quotes things falsely said by those sources.

no it would still be the same, because the Bible does not contain fiction, only Truth.
