Conception.

The Spirit is assigned to the body at conception. In very very rare occations, the Spirit can leave to let another Spirit take the assignment for special reasons. But once the body is born, it is permanently assigned till death.

I feel personally we are born with our spirit already, to me the spirit is what creates our personality. We tend to notices personality traits not that long after we are born
