Whatever your doctor prescribes. Usually you have to purge your system with a cleansing agent to clean out the bowels. And not drink anything 12 hours before the procedure.

I ate lots of Popsicles (except red, blue or grape). I drank clear chicken broth to help give me a feeling of fullness (low calorie too). Hot black coffee or tea is good also. You could probably even drink that "fake beer" if you're a beer drinker. Just some ideas. II had my first colonoscopy in February this year. If you have any other questions I can answer - please e-mail me directly. Thanks! Good Luck!

water is your best drink at all times. Water helps cleanse the body naturally. As many told you, you must purge your body of everything before the procedure generally by drinking something and then not taking anything by mouth for several hours.

Water is the best, but has no calories so you may want some additional clear fluids! Clear fluids include clear, but not red, fruit juices such as apple or white grape (not orange, dark grape, etc.); sports drinks (not red) such as gatorade; tea or coffee with sweetener but no milk; any kind of non-red jello; non-red popsicles; carbonated beverages such as ginger-ale or 7-up; and broths/bouillon cubes.
