My significant other has gone to the opposite coast for a week with her mother and aside from a quick txt message to my cell phone letting me know that she arrived safely I haven't conversed with her one time. I didn't expect for her to call or message me daily but every other or every third day would have been fine with me. I'm looking to hear from both males and females whom have experienced a similar series of events as these. Am I wrong for wanting to hear about her trip, how she's doing a little at a time instead of getting it all at once when she gets back when a lot of the details will likely be forgotten?

she's with her mum, sheesh, it's not like she's in Florida for spring break with muscle bound college boys! She's probably reconnecting with her mum and not using her phone.

It would be nice if she contacted you regularly, but she's with her Mom. It may be that she simply hasn't spoken of it. If you have a secure relationship with her, then there's nothing to worry about. But you could always call her, and simply say that you were missing the sound of her voice, and keep the conversation very short. No harm in that.

I travel on business every week, and when I'm gone I talk with my family every day, sometimes several times throughout the day.

So....depends on how formal / serious your relationship is. You didn't really tell us.....been dating a couple months? years? is this relationship forever? Is it just a friends with benefits type relationship? The answers to these questions are important in order to really say what the frequency should be.

Having said all that...it obviously bothers you, why don't you just tell her?

Not considerate, for sure.My hubby is away frequently on travel for work for days/weeks at a time.I think her behavior is rude and neglectful and highly doubt she'd appreciate it if the roles were reversed. If she missed you, atleast a phone call would have indicated that.Sorry :(

I dont want to be mean and jump the gun but if you think she is cheating than trust your own intuition...my experience is that when people act shady they are shady and the remedy for this is you need to grow some balls and remember your a man please stop this sissy attitude im only trying to help not trying to be rude i just feel bad for all my fellow brothers out there dealing with this kind of trash...you need to change your phone number and move on

When I visit family alone, my husband and I talk twice a day. Just 3-5 minute conversations, but we check in morning and before bed.
(Though we might not talk until after work when we're home)

What's to stop you from calling her? Let her know that you're thinking about her and that you miss her. And, if she's really with her mom, I doubt she's cheating on you. Probably just busy doing stuff.

maybe she is saving some money on the phone bills, plus maybe there is nothing exciting to talk about or report to you and on second thought why don't you call her instead!

It's normal. When my boyfriend goes away, he texts me at least once a day and tries to call me.

Why don't you call her?
