If you consider dust and clay the most basic of elements (they didn't have the periodic table when the bible was written.) Then God created man out of the basic elements. I want to note that it doesn't actually say HOW he did it. In addition, Greek influence made everyone literal. The Old Testament was before that and is generally figurative (metaphor, stories as illustration of a point).

I am not a "Creationist" though I do believe in the creation. But I am also a scientist and realize we don't know how God did it, that is part of what science is for.

Of course not, dust and clay does not have DNA. Dust and clay are made of atoms in different sequence, just like DNA. If God is all powerful, why can't HE create DNA after breaking dust and clay into atoms and make DNA from scratch. Afterall, He created elements or even just energy at subatomic level even from nothing. It is very logical. You just have to think deeper and read a little bit more.

Rhetorical question?

Apparently not. Of course dust and clay doesn't have DNA. Just one of the many many many reason's that I believe creationism is very wrong.

You have to wonder why an omnicient omnipotent god needed to use dust and clay to make men, when he could have just poofed them into existence. Did he use up all his magic powers when he made the heavens and the earth?

God created Adam and Eve WITH DNA as part of them

Since life can't evolve from non-life, that means the very first life form can't be explained by evolution, and in fact exposes evolution as false.
