Depends how big your talking here, to catch a cow in an area like ooooo lets say pv. get your self some tuna tubes (later to be used to keep your bait alive) First find some skippies (skipjack)
that want to play (often found in the same areas as the YF ie. ridges, banks, tempbreaks etc.). Use barbless tuna feathers to catch those skippies (less bait damage) then place head first into your tuna tubes. When you think your in the proper area where big yello fin tuna may be lurking, troll with your freshly caught bait at 6-8 knots.

Good luck and tight lines

On the east coast, there are canyons stretching from Massachusetts to Maryland. Maybe a little farther north and south. That's where you will find the yellowfin tunas in the canyons about 90 miles from the shore. Best way to catch them is to troll with clones, plastic lures with skirts that flutter in the water while trolling.
