I'm thinking to get my nephew a birthday present. something which is fun to play with but at the same time is encourages him to be more active. if possible, educational, too. what's your child's favourite toy? if you don't know the name or brand, descriptions will be really helpful, too.
any idea will be appreciated. many thanks!!

what about the leapstear learning system..It's cost about $60.00. toyrus.com. Or what about a gift card and let him pick out his own gift.http://www.toysrus.com/shop/index.jsp?categoryId=2269731&f=PAD%2FTRU+Age+Filter%2F8-11+Years&clickid=leftnav_age_txt

I always like toys that are educational like bug catchers that include magnifiers, or microscopes made for kids. At age 8 - 11, there are toys from Smithsonian that are wonderfully educational and fun at the same time.

Moon Sand. It is easy to clean up and fun for every one to play with. My 11 year old daughter, my 8 year old son, my 2 year old son, my 1 year old son and I all play with it. It floats, its sticks together it never drys out it is awesome. Plus you can play with it inside during the winter months and outside in the summer. It really is great.
