i just got this car 6 months ago, and lately i've been having a hard time filling my gas tank. At first the car takes about a gallon at a time before the pump shuts, but after 3 gallons may be it starts taking less and less untill it starts getting annoying. I tried to fill it up slowly, it worked a little better but it took for ever.
Thanks everybody for your help.

The vent hose from the tank is restricted. This hose goes from the top of the tank to a charcoal storage canister under the hood. Either the hose or the canister are restricting the air flow out of the tank and the air is trying to escape through the filler opening resulting in the problem you are experiencing. This is an emissions control device and usually covered by the manufacturers warranty for five years. Check with your dealer for specifics.

take it to the shop, the fuel sending unit is giving false readings, it thinks the tank is full, or try a different gas pump.
