You obviously inherited the double recessive gene. Although the brown eyes gene (B) is dominant, there is a possibility for offspring to have eyes of another color if both parents have both the brown and green (b) gene.
Here are the possibilities:
Bb + Bb: (brown eyed parents with both dominant and recessive)
BB--brown eyed offspring, double dominant
Bb--Brown eyed offspring, dominant with recessive
bb--green eyed offspring, double recessive.

You only need one set of brown eye genes to be brown eyed. So if each of your parents were one brown eye gene and one green or blue, then you could get a green gene and a blue, or two greens.

It sounds like you need to take a health class that has at least a chapter on genetics. You will learn about dominate genes and recessive genes. a lot of times when a triat runs in a family people say it is dominant but that is not always true. Blue eyes are recessive,. Even if Everyonee in a family has blue eyes It is still the recessive gene.

Genetics, it's the same for everybody, you probably had a distant ancestor with green or blue eyes. My husband parents both had dark hair and brown eyes, and my husband ended up with red hair and green eyes and his brother with blond hair and blue eyes. And you thought you had it bad!

the genetic code to give someone colored eyes can be "recessive", which means that even though your parents didnt have green eyes, they had the potential of having them, and gave that potential to you.
thats why many traits arent the same from parent to child (hair color, eye color, baldness, etc)

Well it does matter what color your parents eyes because you get most genes from them. See what color your grandparents eyes are. Eye colors can be from your parents or from your grand parents and skip a generation

It's still in the genes. It's whats often refered to as a 'throw back'.
Meaning it was thrown to you from your parents parents ...
Throw backs often happen in the 3rd generation. What colour eye's do or did your Granparents have?
