I have Thyroid disease and it was cancer, I weighed 160 lbs when the Doctor's discovered it. They did surgery and removed it and in 3 months time i went down to 110 and i am still there. 2 years ago i stopped taking my meds(synthroid) and went in to a masademic coma,my organs were shutting down. The thyroid is a very important part of your body working right,I have before and after pics if you would like to see them, And talk about this I wish you luck on this and i will pray for you

I have Hypo thyroid and take medication everyday for the part 6-7 years.... It is extremely hard for me to lose weight... last year I lost about 10 pounds, but gained it all right back. I don't consider myself to be overweight (neither does my Dr.) but I am "chubby" or "thick" as my husband would say.... i find eating in moderation adn healthy helps me to stay a certain weight, and not gain more than I should... I try walking a lot, sometimes at night with my mom or husband!
Anyway, yes, having a thyroid problem makes it really hard to lose thw weight, but try, and make sure your taking the correct dosage of medication. maybe your not taking enough? that could be a possibility too!.. I go every 6 months for blood work!
Good Luck!

Part of that is the doctor's issue. If you are on medication for hypothyroidism they should be able to regulate your hormone levels and even it out fairly quickly.
If you were hyperthyroid and gained weight after starting on medication to slow it down, again, the doctor's need to even out your hormone levels. Once they are pretty normal, you should be able to lose the weight.
