The PGA Tour is for all that are good enough to play. You have to get a Q Card from the PGA and you can usually get one if you play very well at Q School. The accepted handicap for Q School is being a scratch player(even) but if you want a Q Card you better be able to play in the minus. They have Q Schools every couple months and this time of year they are usually in AZ.Hope this helps and good luck.

You don't need to, but to would take the free education. There are a lot of great golfers out there and they all want to be on the tour. There are probably a 1000 golfers in college, but maybe 3 or 4 make the PGA tour.

If you are a good enough golfer and can make the jump to the PGA, sure. But if a university will provide you with a scholarship for golf, do that. You will play in great tournements, have fine coaching, get tons of experience, and even get an education. Tiger went to Stanford and it hasn't hurt his career.

One does not become a PGA. The Professional Golf Association never went to school let alone university, so the answer is an unequivocal NO!

Your question specifically uses the word "need". the simple answer is "No" You simply have to be good enough at golf to qualify. You could be illiterate and still qualify for the tour.
There are many reasons to attend a university other than preparing you for the PGA tour, so it will very likely be helpful to you in your life, but is not necessary for being a pro golfer.

Take a look at pga.com and then peruse site for qualifications. If you are talking about becoming a member of PGA, technically you don't have to graduate from college, but it sure helps. They require a lot of classes, business, marketing, etc., that are at a college level, to obtain your class A card. In addition you have to pass a playing ability test (PAT) to show your proficiency at the game.
If you are talking about qualifying for the PGA Tour, then you just have to be able to play well enough to make enough money to stay on the tour. Top 125 money winners from prior year, or qualify on Nationwide tour, or qualify from tour school, or win enough money in tournaments to avoid q-school, etc.
Depends upon what your question truly related to (it's not precise enough to answer merely from what you wrote).

No, if you start winning amateur tournaments (GOOD amateur tournaments), you can try out at the PGA school. If you pass that, you can get your PGA card. Remember though, even the worst PGA golfer is AMAZINGLY good!

One does not need to, but one will be advised to do so, because one is not guaranteed to be the next Tiger so one does need a safety net.
