You sound like my mom. All she drinks is Diet Coke-- literally. No water, milk, or juice. She gets headaches when she cuts back on sodas.... But yes, it is bad for you. Even diet sodas cause you to gain weight. And you're not helping your kidneys any by making them process so many extra chemicals every day. Plus, sodas contain a drug called Phenylalanine-- aka aspartame. It's an amino acid that the body "needs" but not in quantities so large as you're describing. You've probably heard of it. It crosses the blood-brain barrier and seeps into the bain. It can be dangerous. My dad kept getting dizzy and got an MRI a few months ago and there were a lot of "spots", which were sections of dead brain cells. His doctor told him it was probably because all he drinks (like my mom) is diet coke. Just use moderation. You don't need that much soda in one day. Stick to water and skim milk and just drink a can or two of diet coke a day.

besides the fact that it's soda and all soda is bad for you, some diet sodas have aspartame, which is a artificial sweetner that can cause cancer if too much is taken into the body. water is natural and what your body uses to function every day, and if you're substituting water for diet soda you're going to be in some trouble soon.

Yes - it is loaded with chemicals and the artificial sweetners can actually fool your pancreas into overproducing insulin - which is bad bad bad bad! Some people drink gallons of this muck every week. Pure, clean water is the best thirst quencher for your body. Drink 6-8 glasses every day and enjoy the benefits of clear skin, hydrated internal organs and an extremely healthy digestive system. Your body will thank you by living to a healthy ripe old age!

Yes, its soda, that's bad enough.
Soda gets to be a habit. Even "diet" soda encourages sugar consumption. Get the water habit you will be glad.

diet soda usually has a lot of artificial ingredients. even the sugar substitutes are not good for your body. most carbonated drinks will mess up your teeth as well. I'd stick with the water, my friend.

diet soda makes you crave sweets. water, on the other hand, does everything good your body needs for great health.
